The Cabin at the Swinging Bridge is a charming, three bedroom, and one bath mountain cabin on the South Toe River, in the mountains of Western North Carolina. You’ll enjoy the screened breakfast porch and deck, as well as outdoor activities that are literally in the front yard! The views from this property are inspiring and if you’re into trout fishing you can do it right in the front yard! The South Toe River runs through the property and families love the convenience of fishing and swimming at the cabin. The swinging bridge is only 150 feet away and is always an attraction as well as the deer which come into the yard daily!

The cabin offers rustic mountain charm that includes a full kitchen, a comfortable country family room / dining room and a covered porch facing the river. The cabin is located just downstream of the Carolina Hemlocks and Mt. Mitchell which offers great convenience for those wishing to have accommodations close to Mount Mitchell Golf and Country Club and all of the attractions of the area.

The Cabin at the Swinging Bridge is located within 5-10 minutes of Mount Mitchell Golf & Country Club, as well as Mount Mitchell State Park. That puts golf and some amazing views and hiking trails all within a few minutes from your stay. For those unaware, Mount Mitchell is the highest elevation east of the Mississippi River!

The Toe River Valley is rich in history with many points of interest less than a 30 minute drive away including the Appalachian Trail and Blue Ridge Parkway. Also nearby are Roan Mountain State Park, Grandfather Mountain, Grassy Creek Golf & Country Club, the NC Mineral Museum and the cabin is just downstream of the Carolina Hemlock Trail. The area is also very rich in culture and the arts as expressed annually during the Mt. Mitchell Crafts Fair, Spring Arts Festival and Old-Timey Fall Festival in Burnsville.

The Rhododendron Festival and Artisans Studio Tour in Bakersville and The NC Mineral & Gem Festival and Hillbilly Heritage Festival in Spruce Pine are also favorite visits.

Enjoy trout fishing right in your front yard or book your own expert guide and go for the big ones. Whitewater Rafting, Hiking, Golf, Mountain Biking and more is all within the area!
