Smoketree’s cozy atmosphere and prime location allows its visitors the choice of enjoying the peace and solitude of the Blue Ridge Mountains or the opportunity of partaking in the many activities available in the High Country! Our area has tons of exciting activities like trout fishing, horseback riding, championship golf, and whitewater rafting!

If you’re a “lover of the great outdoors”, you’ll want to take in some of the hiking trails that are within walking distance of Smoketree Lodge. We are also within minutes of all of the High Country’s Snow Ski Resorts.

Our warm, rustic, mountain decor makes it an irresistible place to unwind after a full day of hiking, golfing, or snow skiing at any of the area's many golf and ski resorts. After an adventurous day in the High Country, relax by the indoor pool and whirlpool or have an invigorating workout with the exercise equipment! You'll also want to pamper yourself with a visit to the sauna! All in all you'll love the special attention to the details that will make your stay at Smoketree Lodge a memorable one!

All units are equipped with a phone (local calls are free!) and Cable TV (ESPN & Nickelodeon) included. Smoketree Lodge offers an indoor heated pool, Jacuzzi, His/Her Saunas, and a game center. VCR/Movie Rentals are also available.

Housekeeping Inventory

The Housekeeping Department will be happy to furnish any items requested that are included on this list. Please notify the Front Desk or Housekeeping Department of your request during office hours.

Blenders, Mixers, Ironing Boards, Irons, Large Knives, Cribs & Sheets, Blankets, Pillows & Cases, Flashlights, Box Fans, Cork Screws, Spatulas, Tongs ( cooking utensil).

Maid Service includes the following services: Trash Removal, Replacement of Bath & Kitchen Towels, Replacement of Paper Products, Making of Beds upon request

 

Our area has tons of other exciting activities like trout fishing at some of the streams just down the road, horseback riding, and whitewater rafting! No matter what YOUR idea of outdoor fun is, you'll find it in the High Country... and Smoketree Lodge offers the most convenient location in the area. Since we are located between Boone and Banner Elk you'll find that you can go in either direction (north or south), and only be minutes from unique shopping in Banner Elk or Blowing Rock's quaint shops, Grandfather Mountain, Tweestie Railroad, all of the area's ski resorts and so much more.

Smoketree Lodge is located in the playground of the Western North Carolina High Country. Visit the Gemstone Mining Capital of the United States (As seen on the Learning Channel) or hike the well known Appalachian Trail or tour the famous Penland School of Crafts.

The High Country area also offers many outdoor adventures like canoeing, rock climbing, hiking and so much more. All are just minutes away! If you enjoy golf, the High Country is THE place to be. In fact, Golf Digest featured an article about the area in which it stated that Avery County was the only place in the United States that had more golf course and resorts than stoplights! Smoketree Lodge is within ten minutes of great mountain golf. Hawksnest, Sugar and Boone golf clubs offer challenging mountain golf.
