Grandfather Mountain is a Spectacular NC Mountain Family Adventure
Grandfather Mountain offers something for everyone visiting the NC Mountains. At 5,964 feet, Grandfather Mountain North Carolina is the highest peak in the Blue Ridge Mountains. While visiting this Western North Carolina attraction, you’ll want to walk across the Mile High Swinging Bridge. The 228 foot long bridge provides access to amazing panoramic views.

Creeper Trail
The Virginia Creeper Trail plays host to over 100,000 hikers, bikers and horseback riders each year. The scenic trail was once an old railroad track that ran from Abingdon Virginia to the Todd NC. The trail began as a path forged by Native Americans and was laid in railroad track in 1905. The last train ran the “Creeper Trail” in 1977. The tracks were taken up and the trail has sense been transformed into a remarkable Virginia hiking trail for visitors from around the country. The trail now extends 34 miles from Abingdon Virginia to the North Carolina line at Whitetop, Virginia.

Tweetsie Railroad
Tweetsie Railroad is located in the scenic NC Mountains on Hwy 321 between Boone NC and Blowing Rock NC. Tweetsie provides a family fun adventure for young and old with shows, amusement park rides, shopping, food and deer park. The park favorite is the Wild West Train Adventure on the historic Steam Engine #12. The train ride circles the mountain and includes “Legends of the Old West” such as Wyatt Earp, Doc Holiday, Jessie James and Billy the Kid as they protect the train from renegade Indians.

Appalachian Ski Mountain
Located only 6 miles from Boone NC, home of the 3 time Championship Appalachian State Mountaineers, Appalachian Ski Mountain provides both convenience and a top notch NC ski resort.

Beech Mountain Ski Resort
Beech Mountain Ski Resort is located in Banner Elk NC just 24 miles from Boone NC. Ski Beech peeks 5,505 feet above sea level, earning it the title of “highest ski resort in Eastern North America.”
