"Watauga" is a Native American word meaning beautiful waters, and when you visit the shores of the Watauga River, it's easy to see how it got it's name. The Watauga River stretches approximately 19 miles between Wilbur Dam and Boone Lake offering some of the best fishing and floating in Northeast Tennessee. The river and species of trout are managed by Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency (TWRA).
Our unique Watauga River getaway is located on 2 private acres, and features a private fishing dock and a huge deck overlooking a setting that takes you back in time. Located on one of only two trophy trout rivers in the entire state of Tennessee, our cabin is the perfect place to escape.

Spacious rooms with plenty of windows brings the outdoors in, and because of the outdoor amenities, our river house is perfect for gatherings, whether it be a family reunion or a small wedding. Family games, satellite TV, DVD’s, and CD player are provided, and water craft rentals are within 5 minutes of the cabin.
We looked for a river house for twenty-five years before this great location opened up. When we made an offer, ten more people were already in line to buy it. Almost inevitably, guests of Watauga River Getaway ask us about purchasing the house after their stay here.
